Vancouver is easily accessible via interstate highways 5 and 205. I-5 is the major freeway in the central part of the city, while I-205 is the main freeway on the east side of Vancouver crossing the Columbia from the east Portland and terminates on I-5 in North Vancouver. Getting to Vancouver by Train

Amtrak train serves Vancouver. The Amtrak station is in downtown. The Amtrak station in Vancouver is served by the Empire Builder, Cascades and Coast Starlight lines. Every day, about 8 Cascades Amtrak trains stop at the Vancouver Station. The Coast Starlight and the Cascades lines are boarded on the north-west side of the Vancouver station, while the Empire builder line is boarded on the south-east part of the station.
